Menu in website

Navigation menu of a web page is an array of hyperlinks of other web pages of that website. Although there is no definite rule or standard to arrange those links but the most common practice is to arrange them vertically at left or right side of the page or horizontally just below the page caption. Many webmasters keep few important links (such as contact, terms of use, private policy, etc.) at their page footer.

The links of navigation menu

Webmasters usually want to keep their viewers stay within their website. So links they place in their menu system are mostly the internal links of their website. In some cases external links are also found to meet the business requirement (such as affiliate links) or to maintain the standard of the pages.

The Importance of website menu

Without menu the WebPages of a website are isolated elements. When a visitor comes to a web page of your website following a link from other website that visitor doesn't know how many pages you have or the URLs of your other pages. So after accessing that page he will leave away from your site. But if you place a good menu on your pages visitors find a way to navigate the other pages of your site. So a well designed menu not only integrates web pages of your website, it also gives a way to measure (category, quality, etc.) of your site.
